THURSDAY CLASSES
THURSDAYS... CHOOSE 1 OR 2 CLASSES FOR AGES 13+
This NEW program offers a variety of arts classes with professionals in their fields to supplement your curriculum. Classes are held on Thursdays during the day.
ABOUT OUR PROGRAM

Classes run for the full school year (9 months) from September 2024 to May 2025.

Although some class titles may remain the same from year to year, the content changes. All classes can be taken for multiple years to allow for individual growth.

Some classes participate in performances, see the "key symbols" for more info.

DaySpring takes breaks for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring.

Aftercare is available for an additional fee.
Contemporary Modern 1 +
This class serves as an introduction to some common styles and basic principles of contemporary dance. Students will build awareness of correct physical alignment and will gain strength and coordination through movement. Exercises that encourage creativity and self-expression will also be given. This class is a perfect companion to Ballet 1 and 2 or can be taken alone, by students who have little or no dance experience.
This class performs in DaySpring’s end of year recital, Finale.

Art Open Studio
The open studio invites students to enter and explore all the different media within art! Our classes include drawing, illustration, painting and clay building.

Acting Troupe §
Expand your dramatic skills and focus on working collaboratively to bring the scene from page to stage! This class covers some basic acting skills including creating the physicality of a character, pantomime, vocal variation, projection, diction, stage directions and terms, audition preparation and execution, comedic timing and improvisation. We will put these skills into practice using monologues, scene work and drama games. This class is also great for building personal confidence, developing physical coordination and furthering cooperative skills of working with and trusting others.
This class is encouraged to audition for our winter play. This class will perform in Fall Showcase and Actor's Spotlight.
