FINE ARTS CLASSES 

Year-Long Classes

Most classes run for 9 months, September to the end of May. Monthly tuition as well as a button to enroll are beneath each class description.

DAYTIME CLASSES

Art Creators

Ages 5-6

In this class, students will learn essential art concepts through imaginative play and hands-on exploration, encouraging creativity and self-expression. They will practice identifying unique objects within a group and distinguishing between bright and light, as well as dull and dark colors. Through playful activities, students will explore basic geometric shapes such as squares, triangles, and circles while discovering different types of lines—long and short, thick and thin, straight and curved. This joyful and creative environment encourages curiosity, artistic confidence, and a love for visual expression.

Art Explorers

Ages 7-9

In this playful and imaginative class, students will develop key observational and analytical skills through hands-on activities that spark creativity and curiosity. They will explore similarities and differences in art, learn and use new vocabulary, and identify key details. Through engaging projects, students will discover various artistic media, recognize primary and secondary colors, and discuss how colors evoke different feelings and moods. They will describe line types and find geometric shapes and forms in the world around them—plants, animals, figures, and everyday objects—building a joyful connection between art and their environment.

Fundamentals of Art
Ages 7-9

This class is designed to build a strong foundation in the fundamentals of art, focusing on developing technical skills, understanding art production, and honing curation and analysis abilities. Students will explore a variety of mediums and techniques, learning how to create polished, thoughtful artwork while gaining a deeper understanding of the artistic process.

Through hands-on practice, students will refine their technical abilities and learn how to effectively produce, curate, and present their work. Additionally, the class will introduce students to the critical analysis of art, encouraging them to evaluate and interpret both their own creations and those of others. This comprehensive approach ensures that students not only improve their artistic skills but also gain a well-rounded understanding of the art world.

Art Innovators

Ages 10-13

In this engaging art class, students will explore the intersection of creativity, personal expression, and social awareness. As they develop advanced motor skills and representation techniques, students will be encouraged to discover and refine their unique artistic styles. Through discussions about community, environment, social issues, and cultural influences, they will express their opinions and explore new perspectives.

The class will guide students in tackling long-term, multi-step projects that challenge their creativity and introduce them to a variety of tools and techniques. By blending artistic exploration with conversations about societal values and issues, students will learn to create meaningful artwork that reflects both personal and collective experiences.

Visual Arts Intensive
Ages 10-13

This advanced art class emphasizes technique while helping students deepen their understanding of design principles, composition, and artistic context. They will explore advanced concepts like form, balance, rhythm, and the picture plane, while also learning to recognize artists by style and analyze historical and cultural meanings in art. With visits from local guest artists, students will gain new insights and inspiration to elevate their creative work and critical thinking.

EVENING CLASSES

Open Studio
Ages 13+

The open studio invites students to enter and explore all the different media within art! Our classes include drawing, illustration, painting and clay building.

OFFICE HOURS 
Monday - Thursday: 9am-8pm

Friday: 9am - 5pm

Saturday: 9am - 2pm
